Taijiquan (Tai Chi) is an ancient martial art that emphasizes the use of leverage, body mechanics and sensitivity to control the aggression of opponents. During this introductory class, students will learn and practice a variety of basic taijiquan principles including: grounding, centering, neutralizing, listening, as well as the 8 energies of taijiquan (peng, lu, ji, an, cai, lie, zhou, kao).
Push hands is a partner practice. Students will be working with one another through physical contact. Students may also request to work only with a partner they register with.
