Taijiquan Workshop (3) Part Series — Afternoons

Our first Taijiquan Workshop series is proving to be very successful. To keep things moving, the next series will be available on Tuesday afternoons. This (3) part series is designed to take a beginning student (or returning student who needs a review) through Yang Form 24.

Form 24 is the most widely practiced Tai Chi form throughout the world. It provides the student with an easy access, shortened version of the longer traditional tai chi forms. Students will improve balance, increase strength and flexibility, and heighten mental cognition. These are only a few of the benefits gained from practicing Tai Chi.

Interested students can choose to attend all (3) workshops or, based on their prior experience, choose an a-la-carte approach to best meet their needs.

Part 1 (3 classes)
(open to all)
– basic tai chi principles of standing posture
– basic stepping patterns
– basic arm postures

Part 2 (4 classes)
(open to any student completing Part 1)
(open to previous Red Rose Qigong students who have studied form 24)
– Postures 1 – 12 (Opening form through High Pat on Horse)
– We will cover roughly 3 postures/class

Part 3 (4 classes)
(open to any student having completed Part 2)
(open to previous Red Rose Qigong students having been introduced to posture 1- 12.
– Postures 13 – 24 (Right Heel Kick through Closing Form)
– We will cover roughly 3 postures/class

PLEASE NOTE: Enrollment is open to any interested student. That being said, this is an ambitious pace and students without movement experience (sports, dance, martial arts, etc.) may struggle. Daily practice will be required to retain information from each class.

Covid Considerations
1) Masks required for the duration of each class (pending current state guidelines)
2) Limited class size (8/workshop)
3) Individual practice only. Social distancing maintained. I will provide postural corrections during workshop which may include minimal contact.
